Making everything pearlescent.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Have you tried out the new Pearlescent Specialty Paper? No? There’s still time.

In the meantime…grab yourself a piece of regular colored card stock and your Frost White Shimmer Paint. To create this ocean surprise (it looks like ocean water with the sun throwing glitter through the water) you will need the:

  • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
  • Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder
  • Pacific Point Card Stock
  • Frost White Shimmer Paint
  • Blending Brush (or sponge)

“Paint” a bit of the shimmer paint on to the front of the embossing folder. Tip: The front or top of the folder is where the Stampin’ Up! logo is and not the copyright. Then place your card stock and run through the machine. Make sure to rinse your brush and folder quickly so the paint isn’t hard to remove.

Take time to recharge.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting to recharge for the upcoming week.

Do you take time to recharge? Do you have something you specifically do just for yourself to get you back on track?

Just like your phone that you recharge, remember to plug yourself in.

Here are some ideas to get some rest.

  • Allow yourself a little extra sleep.
  • Do a different exercise.
  • Take a long, hot bath.
  • Count successes.
  • Give your technology a vacation.
  • Decide that nothing is urgent.

If you would like to read the article I pulled this from and the other 34 ways to rest please go to https://michaeljfite.com/2018/07/30/how-do-you-recharge-yourself/.

Sale-A-Bration is in full swing.

It’s Sale Saturday! Sale-A-Bration is in full swing.

Have you seen the Darling Donkeys yet? The Ombre paper? What’s your favorite? For me, it’s hard to choose. It really depends on the day.

But I do need to remind you to not wait to order. Sale-A-Bration this year is only through the end of February, not March. Yes, it changed this year. But don’t feel short changed. We only have Sale-A-Bration from January through February because we also get to Sale-A-Brate again in July and August. That’s right. Another whole time to Sale-A-Brate.

This also changes the brochures. There is only one brochure, not a second or even third. There will be an additional flyer with two new stamp sets with coordinating dies starting in February, but not a whole other brochure.

So if you would like to order please use host link https://www.stampinup.com?hostcode=K29JUKXE to help Jodi to earn FREE products through Monday night at 7:30 pm.

When silence is comfortable.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Recently I had a moment to sit down with a few people and just breathe. It was interesting to me how different things are when you know someone fairly well versus not hardly.

When you are just getting to know someone you tend to fill the air with conversation. There is not much dead time or quiet in the conversation.

When you know someone fairly well the conversation tends to lend itself to whatever comes. There might be quiet in the air and it is okay.

Have you paid attention to who you feel comfortable being quiet with?

Coloring metal.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

You know that the Stampin’ Blends do a great job bringing life to a stamped image on card stock. But, did you know that the Stampin’ Blends can also be used to color metal, glass, clay, and more? In this case I colored the new Heart Charms.

When coloring on a surface that is not porous like card stock you need to give it time to dry. So color your charm, embellishment, whatever and then create your card. On the last step don’t forget to attach your colored charm.

Join me tonight on the Facebook Live to see this in action.

Mixing and matching.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today we are going to mix and match.

I’ve taken some scraps of foil papers and blended them with care. First I cut them out of the Tasteful Labels Dies and then embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. I want you to remember that just because there is a pine tree on something doesn’t mean it is just for Christmas.

For the background I took the Mossy Meadow Card Stock and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (Queen) with the Woodland Embossing Folder.

It’s okay to mix and match pine trees with birch branches.

P.S. I almost forgot. And Open Day! I have seats tonight.

How to release tension.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on rest to get recharged for the week.

Have you ever felt your muscles knotted up and tight? For me this is a daily occurrence. When crafting and sitting in one position I tend to get a bit tense or my muscles get fatigued. So what’s the answer? For some it might be to get a massage. For others it might be to go run or work out.

As I was searching for images for rest I came across this article talking about how yoga positions can help to release your psoas. (Psoas are a certain group of muscles that help to stabilize your spine.) So I’ve included the chart they gave for a quick reference.

If you would like to read the entire article please go to https://myergonomicchair.com/psoas-release/#header1.
