Being Present

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

As I looked online to get new ideas for giving back I was a little appalled at what I saw. When you google giving back you will see pages and pages of non-profit organizations asking for money. I don’t feel that giving back is always about money.

Giving back should be about being present. You should be fully in the moment and have positive energy to bring in to help. Now sometimes that involves monetary donations, but not always. I wish we could get away from tying someone’s value to their bank account.

Some of the most precious memories to me were of my grandparents. They didn’t spend a ton of money on me but they spent time. They taught me how to cook, how to maintain a pool, how to…and the list goes on. Many of the skills I learned from them I still use today.

So if you don’t have a ton of money but you do have knowledge to pass down please do.
