It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting and recharging for the week.
I looked up the word rest at the online dictionary and this is what I found.
- 1.cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength:”he needed to rest after the feverish activity”Similarrelaxtake a restease up/offlet up
- 2.be placed or supported so as to stay in a specified position:”her elbow was resting on the arm of the sofa”Similarliebe laidreclinerepose
- 1.an instance or period of relaxing or ceasing to engage in strenuous or stressful activity:”you look as though you need a rest“
There are a few things that struck me. First, it says to cease work or movement in order to relax. It doesn’t say to wait until you finish. Second, it says an instance or period of relaxing or ceasing to engage in strenuous or stressful activity…
It does not say wait until you finish. It says to stop when you need a minute to catch your breath. I don’t know about you, but I needed to hear this. I often will say “when I am done…”. Rest is so you can be refreshed and get back to work with a new enthusiasm or fervor.
With inky fingers,
