It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to explore shapes with you.
Have you ever thought that your background was too plain? Or you couldn’t seem to get the right background no matter what? Or you ordered some word or sentiment stamps that you love but didn’t get any images? Then use shapes to create a background for those gorgeous words. Punch, die cut, or stamp some shapes to create a gorgeous card.
For an example of this technique please join me on Wednesday at 7 pm for the Facebook Live.
It’s Management Monday! Here’s what’s happening this week!
There is an order going in tonight! Please use the link https://www.stampinup.com?hostcode=E2A7C43J by Monday, May 17th at 7:30 pm! This helps me to continue to reward you and do giveaways for the birthday club, VIP Events, Open Houses, and more. This also gets you the materials to create this project (with an order $50 or more in product).
Come to craft, shop, pick up an order, or simply say hello. Consumables are available for the project you are working on at cost. Non-consumables such as ink, stamps, punches, and dies are available at no cost to you. Please bring your own adhesive and card stock. See you soon!
Please tell Heidi Burgett congratulations! She won the In Color Ink Pads from the challenge. Congratulations!
The Pay It Forward Event flyer is out! Please share with your friends. No RSVP is necessary but please bring your own adhesive and scissors.
The event on May 29 has been canceled since Card Class has been moved up to June 5 and 10.
It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest and recharge for the rest of the week.
I looked up synonyms for resting or recharging and ease of use came up. So what does it mean to ease? It means for it to not be difficult. Almost every single image with the term ease came with a tube or spray of some sort. There was not really any kind of container to unscrew or pry open.
This makes me think of what my Grama used to say…”if you put in the work little by little during the week then your weekend will be yours and can you be more at ease to relax”.
So what are you doing to set yourself up to be able to relax?
While there is not much on sale there are a couple of bonuses.
There is a host bonus for May! If you order or buy $250 or more in product you get the normal 10% of host rewards and a $25 bonus! Please let me know ASAP as my weekends are already full and I am now booking during the week!
And, if that’s not enough, when you choose to get a discount you also get an additional $25 FREE in your Starter Kit and FREE shipping. Ask me more about this!
It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Today I am talking about card stock, the thick type to be exact.
I know you hear me say that the Thick Basic White or the Thick Very Vanilla Card Stock is great for card bases. And that I love the fact that you can’t see the bumps from the pen after writing the note in your card. Well, not only is the Thick Card Stock great for cards but it also works amazingly for 3D projects. You have to score beforehand with a stylus or the Paper Trimmer. You can’t just fold, but it is worth it. Boxes, favors, etc. are so much more sturdy with that extra weight.
So before you cut all of your Thick Card Stock for card bases leave a few sheets whole.
It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to talk to you about background stamps and a few ways to use them. The stamp in question is called Wild Roses.
With any background or large stamp there are several ways to use it. You can leave the stamp in its entirety. You can stamp the entire image and then cut it up. You can punch or die cut it into shapes. And last, but not least, you can ink only a corner and only use a portion.
For this project I used the stamped image and cut it into panels as well as stamping only a portion.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest and recharge so you are ready for the week.
Today I want to talk about rejuvenation. Rejuvenate simply means to make young or youthful again. It also means to give new vigor to. (according to Merriam-Webster)
Have you seen someone that is so tired and exhausted that they look haggard and aged before their time? So I want to remind you to periodically rest to regain that bounce in your step.
And how do we get that enthusiasm or spring back in our walk? Well, if you google rejuvenate you will find a whole bunch of pictures of floor cleaner as well as others. The others are what peaked my curiosity. Most of the other photos were of people relaxing but still being stimulated. One person was reading a book, another getting a massage, and so on.
I guess it depends on what part of your body you need to rest. If it’s your muscles you might want to take a long bath or get a massage. If you need to escape then reading a book seems to be a good option. Whatever you choose know that it is helping you to bounce back so that you can continue to live your life with fervor.
