Giving back with friendship.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or pay it forward.

Sometimes the best way to give back is to be present. Recently my daughter’s truck broke down and she was stuck on the side of the road with herself, her truck, and a friend. She wasn’t sure if this person was someone that was more than an acquaintance, but they have since become a good friend.

It’s amazing to me how a simple moment of bad luck with the right person can become somewhat perfect.

What’s happened to you that has shown the good in people?

Christmas in July — Living Christmas Trees

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to talk to you about Christmas. Yes, I know it’s July but it’s not too soon. The new Mini Catalog comes out next month featuring Christmas, Halloween, Fall, and more.

So let’s talk about Christmas trees. Not only will I show you how to create a hole to plant one, but also how to pleat ribbon easily with Glue Dots.

For complete instructions please watch the video on https://youtu.be/KLGFDk5nWMM. If you watch by Tuesday the 13th then you will get the written instructions as well.

Making lattice for a background.

It’s Technique Tuesday! The Paper Lattice in the Bloom Where You’re Planted Suite Collection can be used for several things. It can be cut up to create a border, suspended between pieces of card stock to make an illusion of sorts, or simply a background. In this case I used it as a simple background or mat.

What other uses have you found for the Paper Lattice?

Relax…

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting so you can be recharged for the week.

Another term for resting is to relax. The definition is to “make or become less tense or anxious”. Sometimes anxious is said to be rigid instead. When I think of relax I think in terms of hair. You add relaxer to change your hair. When you want your hair to be less curly you add relaxer.

So when I want changes in my life sometimes it is best to relax instead of pushing harder. It might change your perspective enough so you can move forward.

P.S. Don’t forget about the Clearance Rack too!

Every step is a step.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

I am sure someone out there thinks that in order to give back or pay it forward it has to be a large gesture. Personally I believe that every step forward is just that…a step forward. I don’t care how small it is. I just care that it is forward.

Whatever you can do…do it.

Personally I love this quote by Arthur Ashe.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”

Sometimes all you can do is cry with someone. Sometimes you can loan a vehicle or a helping hand. Sometimes you can buy a meal. And sometimes you can give a smile. Just keep moving forward.

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to show you how to create some cute alternatives with this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. Now if you didn’t get the kit please let me know as I have two kits that will be available on July 10. Each kit is $25 or $30 mailed. Onwards with what is being created today.

The first card is one that is supposed to be of a branch behind some flowers. Instead the boughs or swags become the antlers for a reindeer. Then add some google eyes and some rhinestones and you have rudolph.

Then, for the second card, instead of the fill-in for a flower the stamp gets flipped over and used to create a gorgeously blue clouded sky.

If you would like to see some other cards from this kit and the video please go to https://youtu.be/0d9RdBMAUk8.

My plant is giving me the finger.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Did you know that my plant is giving me the finger? Have you gone to a baseball, football, basketball, (place sport here) game and bought one of those foam fingers? Well, I didn’t have to look for very long before I found mine right in my plants. Yes, plants.

These Perfect Plants Dies are a bit of trouble for me as last week I found aliens here. This week I am getting the finger. Do you see it too?

Remember to look all different ways at your products. You’ll never know what you will find.

Happy Crafting!

With inky fingers,

Joni 🙂
