Celebrate Today Magnet Board Kit

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today is not much of a tutorial since this new Celebrate Today Magnet Board Kit is all-inclusive. You take it out of the box, unwrap, and go. There’s no ink needed. It’s so easy.

I’ve listed a few things to use this kit for:

  • To do list
  • Menu planner
  • Photo or memory page (thank you Lisa)
  • Card display (thank you Cathy)
  • Co-worker gift (thank you Serina)

It can easily be hung with the hanger on the back already in place. It can also be placed on an easel or even against a wall.

You can create this kit on Saturday, February 26 from 10-2 during Bingo.

If you can’t come to Bingo and you still want the kit simply say you want the Bingo Bonus. This will be available through Monday the 21st. In the Bingo Bonus you will get the kit, Iridescent Rhinestones, and Brass Butterflies for $45 (a savings of $5.37).

For a good look at the kit please go to the video at https://youtu.be/IN6BBjnrjGk.

Wax Seal or Stamping?

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Have you ever gotten a formal letter or invitation with a wax seal on the envelope? Do you know how to create that wax seal?

There are two ways you can create this. The first is real and legitimate while the latter is more of a faux wax seal.

Let’s explore the first one. You will need a metal stamp with a lighter or flame as well as sealing wax. You heat and puddle the wax and then stamp into it.

So the second one is more of a faux technique. Grab your Versamark Ink Pad, Embossing Powder, a stamp, and a Heat Tool. Begin building your wax seal by stamping the Versamark and sprinkling heavily with the embossing powder. Before it cools (or warm it back up) and it is still sticky add more powder. Continue adding and heating until the “wax” is thick or deep enough. Tip: you might want to heat from underneath so the powder doesn’t blow away. When you have the thickness you would like then warm again. When it is warm then gently push the stamp into the powder. Before it is completely cool then pull the stamp out. Tip: If the stamp gets stuck then heat slowly from underneath. (This works better with the red rubber stamps instead of the photopolymer or clear ones.)

Letting the paper do the talking.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today’s post is going to be short and sweet as not much explanation is needed.

Sometimes you just have to let the Designer Series Paper do the talking. Below is shown the Daffodil Afternoon 12″ X 12″ Designer Series Paper. This is one of the free picks with any $50 or more in product order in the Sale-A-Bration brochure. But hurry…Sale-A-Bration only has 14 days left!

Helping one another.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

I want to encourage you today to help someone else out. It could be huge like helping someone move. Or it could be as simple as sharing a smile. Regardless I want you to focus on giving to someone else whether you know them or not.

Using the Blends for more than card stock.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Today is not so much the product being used differently but its application. I recently bought some stickers from the local dollar store but they were white. They didn’t have a lot of zing to them. So I needed to add something. But what. I tried stamping but then they were too busy. The sticker itself was also slick. So I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends and they worked perfectly. I just had to give them a few seconds to dry.

What do you think?

What will you try to color that is out of the normal?

Check your inks!

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today is not so much about technique but making sure your products are current to get the best results.

Did you know the formula for the ink changed a few years ago? When the ink pads changed from the hard linen to a foam pad the formula for the ink changed also. There is now an anti-foaming agent in the ink so you don’t get the air bubbles like you used to. You can put the new ink refills in the old style pads with no problems. But please don’t put the old formula of ink on the new pads. It won’t work well.

Here is how you tell if your ink refill is current with the new formula. Look on the side of the bottle. The top number should start with 17XXX if it is new. If the number is less than 17XXX then it is of the old formula.

Let me know if you need to re-order any of the refills.

Happy Crafting!

Joni 🙂
