Laying Fallow

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

I’ve been reading up on farmland. No, I am not moving to plant crops. But as much as farmland has been in the news I figured I should read a bit on it. I like to know enough so when things come up I can at least understand the basic vocabulary. But what does this have to do with rest? You’ll see. Keep reading.

A piece of land can be used several times before it needs to rest or lay fallow. When it lays fallow this can mean that it lies completely empty, that it’s crop is traded out for a different one, or that the soil is worked and replenished with manure and added minerals.

So how does this relate to us? If you need to rest do so. But depending on what’s coming next will be dependent on how you rest. If you are planning on doing something physical you might want to incorporate yoga, stretching, or a light workout into that rest so you stay mobile. If you have a mental challenge like a huge test then you will want to eat right, get enough sleep, move, and maybe even look over your notes.

It just depends on what is coming next as to how you rest.

Happy Crafting!
