Resting with Rejuvenation

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting so you can be recharged for the rest of the week.

For those of you that live in the high desert, the last few days have been windy and a bit cold. I was out in it most of the day yesterday and my skin is feeling it. Dry, chapped, and I can’t tell if it is burned by wind or sun or both. Regardless, I looked up ways to take care of chapped skin specifically for the face.

As I was reading through the list I know a couple of the solutions surprised me. So I hope this helps you as much as it does me.

Chapped skin treatment specifically for the face…

  • Applying a few drops of coconut oil before bed helps to bring back moisture.
  • Rubbing or applying ghee (clarified butter) with a cotton ball or pad. It exfoliates and moisturizes. (This one surprised me.)
  • Rub yogurt before going out to prevent chapping. You can thin with a bit of water to allow to dry before applying make-up. (This one surprised me also.)
  • Rinse with coconut water will help with chapped skin and also scars. It is best for more oily skin.
  • Rubbing aloe vera on the face can also prevent dryness.
